His obsession leads to financial strain, frustrating his practical wife, Madhumati.

One day, Rama Natha encounters a sage, Mahipati, who claims to know about the magic potion. The sage instructs him to plant banana trees and collect five liters of dew from their leaves over several winters. Rama Natha eagerly follows the instructions, cleaning his fields, planting rows of banana trees, and meticulously tending them. With Madhumati’s help, the banana fruits are sold, yielding significant earnings. Over six years, Rama Natha amasses a thriving banana plantation and finally collects enough dew.

When Rama Natha presents the dew to the sage, he watches eagerly as the sage chants over the bottle. However, the "magic potion" fails to turn a copper vessel into gold. Disheartened, Rama Natha accuses the sage of deceit. Smiling, the sage calls Madhumati, who reveals a box filled with gold coins—the wealth generated by their hard work and banana sales.

The sage explains that no magic exists; Rama Natha’s diligence and his wife’s resourcefulness created their fortune. Had the truth been revealed earlier, Rama Natha would not have worked so earnestly. Enlightened by the lesson, Rama Natha embraces hard work, continuing to build his prosperity.
